It is fed by sulphur springs which make the waters warm to tepid even in winters.

How to Reach Sita Devi Lake
The Sita Devi Lake in Devikulam is situated just about sixteen kilometers from Munnar. The nearest reailhead is the Aluva railway station situated over a hundred kilometers from the Lake. At an almost similar distance is the international airport at Cochin. By road it is virtually a two-hour smooth drive from Munnar on the National Highway. The geographical coordinates are 10.06E latitude and 77.10N longitude.

Pallivasal Waterfalls

The Pallivasal waterfalls are literally a jewel of nature. It is the ideal place to spend a day relaxing, having a picnic or simply drinking in the natural bounty. Basically, Pallivasal is a small village on the hills which are ideal for roaming around. The scenic waterfall is also the harbinger of prosperity to the region. Kerala’s first hydro-electric project is located here. The plant generates about thirty seven and a half mega watts of power in this hilly landscape.

How to Reach Pallivasal
The Pallivasal waterfall is located just about 8 kilometers from Munnar town of Kerala. It is around three kilometers from Chithirapuram. The nearest railway stations are about a hundred kilometers from Pallivasal. These railway stations are Aluva and Angamali. Another smaller railway station which is situated about seventy kilometers away is at Kaduthuruthy. The nearest airport is located in Kochi which is about hundred kilometers away. It is an international airport.

Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary

The Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary is the home to the grizzled giant squirrel as well as muggar crocodiles. The Chinnar Wildlife sanctuary is a veritable treasure land supporting thousands of floral species as well as some rare fauna. Spread in an area of over ninety kilometers the sanctuary has several varieties of distinctive birds, butterflies, moths and other fauna. The reptiles found here are rare. It also has another unique botanical feature which is the xerophytes or thorny scrub forest.

How to reach Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary
The Chinnar wildlife sanctuary can be reached through the nearest railway station which is at Ernakulam. The Ernakulam Railway station is located 150 kms away from Munnar. The nearest airport is Kochi international airport, which is situated 110 kms from Munnar. By road, it is well connected by buses and private taxis running along the newly built National Highway.
